I was born in Seoul, Korea and currently live in Cambridge. After obtaining a BFA in graphic design in Korea, I worked as a graphic designer at Samsung.
I have always been an avid collector of children’s books. As a result my interest in illustration grew and I eventually decided to walk away from a promising career as a graphic designer to follow my passion to become an illustrator. As a freelance illustrator I have published children’s books with leading publishers in Korea.
In Britain I have been furthering my studies earning an MA in Graphic Design from University College for the Creative Arts, and in Children’s Book Illustration from the Cambridge School of Art, Anglia Ruskin University.
Everyday episodes and incidents always have been inspiration to my work. Especially little glimpse into childhood through the eyes of a child are treasured experiences which I try to feed back into my work. Due to my upbringing and my background as a graphic designer I am fascinated by textures, patterns and typography.
I hope very much to make picture books for children of all ages.
